OMG. I’m in love.
If I could marry fragrance, I would marry Margiela’s Untitled.
I don’t really collect perfumes. Right now I have five bottles on my dresser:
• Hayden’s Green Tea and Peony, a gift from Hayden and a favorite of Vicki Belo
• Acca Kappa which is truly sexy on a man or a woman
• Gap’s Close (which reminds me of Patrick Robinson in Tokyo)
• L’Artisan Bois Farine (a fave of Sofia Coppola)
and of course this Untitled by Maison Martin Margiela.
Found a sample at the I.T counter in Hong Kong while I was shopping and I gave it a try.
It brought me back to Houston to the hotel Zaza, which is one of my most favorite hotels in the world.
Zaza had this wonderful fruity scenting that haunts me to this day. I think Margiela’s Untitled comes very, very close to it.
They say scents are a powerful trigger of emotions and memory. When I smell Japanese crayons, I’m back in Grade 3.
When I smell Untitled, I’m back in Houston keeping my cousin Chelo company.
It’s been three years since she passed and not a single week goes by that I don’t think about her.
So these are the things I love in just one bottle: Martin Margiela
I.T, Hong Kong
Isn’t that amazing?
