Ever since news came out that Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto was threatening to put up a HOLLYWOOD-like sign over Taal volcano, the country’s best and most hilarious Photoshoppers made their protest known by adding to Hollywood Pilipinas’ Facebook page.

Copying Hollywood would not be that great.  I mean… Hollywood was first.  That is why I prefer the cigarette picture better.  Why not put a big palm tree.  Or Maybe a pinoy mascot coming out of the crater.  Diba?

Thank you for posting this … I mean, the Hollywood sign is not exactly something to aspire to … plus a direct copy = unoriginal ugliness. It would drive away tourism, not encourage it.

PS. I’m also against the idea of putting floating restaurants there in the lake. In the previous post, a commenter who lives near Taal said the water is already rather foul and smells awful. How will these restos dispose of their waste? Too many fishcages already and didn’t the area suffer from massive fish kill just a few months ago?
