Temptation Island, rewind
Posted on

You know me, I love all kinds of Tagalog movies. I’ll watch anything on Cinema One, like everyday.
One of my all-time favorites is the original Temptation Island from 1980.
Created by Joey Gosienfiao, it starred Dina Bonnevie, Azenith Briones, Bambi Arambulo and Jennifer Cortez as contestants of the Manila Sunshine beauty pageant and Deborah Sun as the maid.
Others in the stellar cast were Ricky Belmonte, the late Alfie Anido, Domingo Sabado, Jonas Sebastian, Tonio Gutierrez, Anita Linda, Lillian Laing, Bibeth Orteza, among others.
When it was released, the intention was to create a bold movie, but the result turned out to be more hilarious than sexy.
In other words, nobody got it. It took a few years for people to figure out what a gem this movie is/was.

Temptation Island

I first watched this movie when I was in high school, and frankly I was shocked that a Tagalog movie could be this campy.

I’m just happy to be the proud owner of this rare video.

Temptation Island

In 2006, I styled the Bench Fever underwear show with the theme Temptation Island.
Assisted by Jujiin Samonte, Pier Lim, Charmaine Palermo and Melvin Mojica, we were assigned to dress down celebrities like Rufa Mae Quinto, Alessandra de Rossi, James Blanco and Michelle Madrigal (Photos: Patrick Uy)

The rest of the photos I can’t show you because, well, we’re gonna have moms screaming another Bench scandal, hehe.
Anyway it was FUN. Can’t wait for the next underwear show.

I love how in the B&W poster, under Jennifer Cortez’s name, it’s written “Ms Bb Pilipinas”
Miss na, Binibini pa! LOL =)

Temptation Island (Original Version) is the best Filipino Movie I have ever watched. Sometimes I find old Filipino Movies more beautiful than the current films that are shown today [Reply]CVS Reply:July 4th, 2011 at 9:27 PManong sometimes? most of the time… [Reply]Anonymous Reply:July 5th, 2011 at 12:28 PMkorek!most of the time talaga.
