Suspicion raised over Swiss national
Posted on

The readers are smarter than me.
After I posted the story of David Archetti last night, things became clearer in the morning, and some questions were begging to be asked.
1) Why doesn’t the Tourist Police just drive him to the Swiss Embassy?
2) Why doesn’t his family want him back home? Doesn’t he have other friends who can fork out the Php 4,500 he needs?
3) Was he overstaying? Can they just deport him?
4) Why isn’t he losing weight?
5) Did the ABS-CBN news team offer to take him to the Swiss embassy, or even Google David Archetti?
Because this will show up if you click here:

His embassy should take care of him. He’s already bunking with the police so reporting him to the “authorities” here won’t do much.

hmm that’s an interesting development. now everyone is wondering nga if he really is a conman or he is what he says he is. The problem with the info we can get from the net is that its not entirely “reliable” but this certainly does raise suspicions. I think the best thing that should be done is to contact the Swiss Embassy and present all the information gathered. Including the “accusation” that he is a conman.

Not Amused

First time to comment here. I just have to share. About 6 – 7  years ago, my hubby and I were approached by a tall, well dressed, middle aged European guy in Megamall.  He asked for the time, which we felt was odd since he was wearing a watch.  It didn’t take him long to admit that he was just too embarrassed to ask for help. Not to bore you with the details, his story is pretty much the same as this Swiss guy, just less dramatic. He said he lost his passport and other belongings in a taxi. My… Read more »

Wow. This is a different kind of news from the mainstream and it is a good thing that this is shared. Ibang klase, one would never think that a white guy staying in the Phils, with no money at all (daw) , turns out to be a swindler.  Tsk Tsk.  Thanks for this info.

That reporter needs to brush up on his research skills. Look at all the people he could have contacted to fully round out his story if he had only thought to do something as basic as a Google search.

I agree. By not getting all sides, that reporter may have done damage, i.e. other people may have sent this swiss guy money already.

hay naloko kayo,  di ko ma gets ha why cant they just to the right thing , which is bring him to Swiss embassy and let them deal with him. Good samaritan pa ang pinoy eh dito lang sandamakmak na  ang problem, charity begins at home, kung manong sa  street children na lang binigay yung food noh,

Maybe because the amount of 4500 is not that much so he or they expect that people would easily give it and then little by little the money would pile up. He must have millions on his account or they must have millions.

oh and i think he knows he can go to the swiss embassy for help. that’s the first place you’d go to if you were desparate right? your embassy.  the fact he doesn’t, maybe he’s trying to avoid the authorities in any and all forms.  and if it were a corrupt country he belonged to, i’d think twice. but if he’s swiss, that’s one of the best governments in the world! well from what i know, much less corrupt than others.

we should email them his whereabouts.  imagine if this were someone who’d scammed you?  there’s the possiblity too that there are “bad” ppl after him.  then again, “bad” ppl like that would have better means wouldn’t they, and maybe a better translator?  and yes, i find it odd that he can’t find anyone to lend him P4500.  that’s not a lot of money.  i’d lend that to our help, heck i’d give that to my yayas.  he can’t find ONE person from switzerland to help him?  especially no family?  i mean P4500 must be change for them.  so my conclusion is,… Read more »

Oh boy. This could be something reeeeallly serious. Ang kaso, paano KUNG yung site
ay naninira lang pala sa kanya? I mean, wala naman talaga tayong idea
kung sino at ano ang pinaggagagawa nya rito o sa kanila. Better send him
to the Swiss Embassy. If he is what he is said to be, he should def
leave the Philippines. Ayaw naman natin na manloko pa sya ng tuluyan
dito.

Nyek. I didn’t suspect anything when I read the initial article although the first thing tha frankly came to my mind was that he looked pretty “healthy” for a homeless person.

It pays to be informed! Thanks for sharing.
It may be best indeed to report him and let their courts judge him. That let him stay friendly with our own policement who are supposedly upholding the law yet they fold on a foreigner.

the world is changing. hongkong also has quite a few white homeless people and white people involved in petty crimes. i know british citizens in manila who lived so well then became so broke their friends had to help them leave the country. my husband had to ‘rescue’one of his friends so doped up the embassy didnt even want to get involved. the reason this happens is bec at first life, esp in third world asia, seems v cheap and easy until you start abusing this privilege and squander all your money. some come for the adventure then get sucked… Read more »
