FULL VIDEO: Senator Miriam Santiago’s privilege speech
Posted on

I wasn’t home while this was happening earlier this afternoon, but on the way to the bank and a meeting.
I had to listen on the radio and wished I could see Senator Miriam’s facial expression while giving her speech.
I can relate to her chronic fatigue syndrome, so I know that making this speech took a lot from her.
When you’re sick and tired it’s so easy to let evil people just get away with things because it’s the easiest thing to do.
Just mind your own business and live your own life.

I get bothered when people say everything that happens is God’s will and is meant to be. If that’s the case then should we just let things unfold and do nothing? How do you explain the Holocaust—was that God’s plan?
While listening to the speech in our car’s radio, all I could think of is how old is Enrile and at his age he should be preparing to meet his Maker.
I also thought I should stop patronizing Delimondo corned beef.

What Senator Miriam did today was brave because in our culture, the majority of evil people get away with shit and get celebrated. That’s why the Philippines remains high on the corruption index.
Only God knows what will happen to Enrile and his allies. I’m just glad it won’t take very long. The man is after all 89 years old.
Watch while Enrile plays Candy Crush and tell me what you think.

Not defending JPE here, but I can’t believe you guys are falling for Miriam’s speech hook, line and sinker!! If the issue is corruption, she’s just as bad as the rest of them. And if we’re talking about the truth, didn’t Miriam admit to lying a few years back when she was put on the spot about a certain issue? I don’t remember exactly what it was about now, but I do remember she was even laughing about it (it felt like she was laughing at the Filipinos). Please don’t tell me you guys still believe she actually studied and… Read more »

The battle is now for his legacy. I bet he will have a movie made about his life – yung mala-epic. I just hope Carlitos and Bibeth choose to tell the WHOLE story. Unlike that MMK garbage ABS-CBN produced, or that book of lies he calls his biography. I don’t recall the name of the hack he hired to write it, but I hope he is able to live with himself after putting his name on that book.

PALM corned beef is pretty good. Shame about Delimondo.

“…all I could think of is how old is Enrile and at his age he should be preparing to meet his Maker.”

I was thinking the same thing. At 89, one’s reputation and the totality of one’s being is pretty much set (duh). One has reached the undeniable summary of all his life’s works. If at least you’re not being applauded and revered (like Washington Sycip), you’d best hope to be respected in general (Henry Sy, DM Consunji). I think it’s a bad sign if you still have to keep defending your reputation. Not much time left anyway. 😐

I remember reading somewhere that Enrile is like The Portrait of Dorian Gray, except portrait niya yung bumabata.

Enrile will not die. He will lead the devil’s army during the apocalypse and there, he will be banished to the depths of hell.

A cockroach that can survive in freezing point temp. was recently discovered in NY and a cockroach that can survive a nuclear holocaust named Enrile found in Phil. politics, should make an interesting study, hmmm.

I hope Miriam runs for president. She may be the only hope of the Filipino people. Enrile will die leaving a tarnished legacy. He put shame on the map of the Philippines.

Well she did, but unfortunately lost to Ramos (correct me if I’m wrong). I don’t think she’ll run again though, baka hindi kayanin ng katawan. Enrile is obviously mocking her, using the “sino ang mas baliw” argument.

Have you seen the picture of Enrile playing Candycrush (or was it Bejeweled?) while Miriam was delivering her speech? How bastos! I guess it was intentional? Like he wanted people to see that he doesn’t care. Either way, nakakapang-init ng ulo! [Reply]CVS Reply:December 5th, 2013 at 12:59 AMi heard about Bejeweled. Buti na lang it’s not Candy Crush ano! Show you how immature, rude and unprofessional he is. I hope the ghosts of whom he ordered killed/salvaged during Martial Law and all the others (including Alfie Anido ba?) come back to haunt him until he dies. Petrified frog ang labas nya. Look how he treats Miriam – a lady and a fellow senator, at that – para lang nakakaloko. Bastos.
