Hey guys, I’m about to do something I’ve been thinking about for a while now. I’m going on a break from blogging.
I’ve been blogging since 2001 and I haven’t taken a break for a long time. I even discussed it with my children.
Ben, 15, said I should definitely take a break.
Chris, 9, was worried. “What will you do mommy?”
“I want to sleep for a month.”
“But what if your friends want to visit you?”
“Then I will wake up.”
Funny, Chris thought I was literally going to sleep for a month.

So much has been going on. As I write this, I am nursing a migraine. My eyesight has gotten worse overnight and I saw Dr. Alnette Tan earlier at American Eye. Dr. Alnette said though my eyes have a 75 grade on the left, they are looking good. No cataract. Just normal signs of aging.

Here’s what I plan to do during my break:
1) Drink less Coke. Shrink my tummy. Change my diet.
2) Lose weight.
3) Clean my house.
4) Take care of the children’s needs. Take care of me.
5) Collect money, cause many people owe me…. so hard to collect. I have enough money to collect to support my lifestyle until I figure out what I need to do next.

Hopefully these will improve mind and body. I haven’t been feeling well in a while. I just want to stop looking at numbers. Social media has been cluttering my life.
For a while now I was blogging to support my shopping, but now I realize I can do with less stuff, less clutter.
I don’t know what the next step is, but I leave it up to God. I just want to clear my mind of junk and clutter. It must be done.
Meanwhile I want to thank all of you who have been with me through many years. You know how to reach me.

Wish me luck on my journey.
Love,
C

Are you familiar with The Konmari Method by Marie Kondo? It’s about surrounding yourself with only the things that spark joy in you. I think you’ll like this concept. Tidying and de-cluttering really orders the mind. I hope you feel well soon, been lurking on your blog since the mid-2000s.

I’ve been following your blog for about half a decade and I was so starstruck when I met you for a meeting when I was still working for Shellane (another word that dates you haha) :). I live in the US now and I miss home terribly but I never forget to check your blog for new entries almost every day here. Good luck on your sabbatical. I have been off of social media for more than 3 months now and I dont feel as attached to it anymore nor do I feel the need to check back in anytime.… Read more »

I’m currently on a sabbatical from my healthcare career. I’m too burnt-out for words to describe my life during those times. I’m just thankful that I have a very supportive husband. During the last 3 years I was able to focus on my health (chronic back pain) and generally just evaluate/de-clutter my life. I wish you well and I know it will benefit you in more ways than one. I’ve been following you since the dial-up days of the internet ? . I think I’ve already developed this “love” for you na kahit matagal ka pa mawala hindi na mawawala… Read more »

Oh wow. Such a big step but then again, if it’s for you then go for it! Self-love is never selfish love. 🙂
Just to let you know I’ve learned so much from you and I’m grateful for your pieces of advice!

All the best. Ms. C! Until your next entry! 🙂

: ( so I don’t have anything to read on my lunch break. Good luck on your journey. I hope you achieve everything on your list!! Thanks for all the reads through the years. I just realized I’ve been reading you for years now, your kids were still little then and you did not even have your youngest son. Thanks again. Till you blog again (maybe it won’t be called a blog anymore when you come back).
