But it took Dr. Vicki Belo nearly a year to convince Ruffa Gutierrez to undergo an invasive procedure to remove unwanted loose skin on her tummy brought about by childbirth.
Her two daughters, Lorin and Venice, were delivered the normal way, that’s why the TV presenter/actress initially had apprehensions about surgery.
Ruffa admits she had long wanted to get rid of the loose skin on her body.
“I’ve tried different exercises, workout, diet, but nothing seemed to work for me,” Ruffa. “Then I saw Jinkee Pacquiao who underwent the same procedure with Belo.”
Ruffa’s numerous show biz commitments also prevented her from doing an invasive procedure, which she initially thought, would sideline her.
“I thought I would need at least a week to recover, but Dr. Vicki assured me I could work the next day, so that was another factor that convinced me.”
True enough, Ruffa was mobile the day after her Bodytite procedure.
Bodytite or what is known as Radio Frequency Assisted Liposuction (RFAL), addresses the problem of predominantly loose skin seen on some patients after undergoing liposuction.
Bodytite is a minimally invasive procedure which uses radio frequency (RF) energy applied over the skin and into the fat layer to allow simultaneous lipolysis and skin tightening.
Dr. Belo says Bodytite is best for areas that tend to be loose like the inner thighs, arms and the abdomen.
This happens when skin is damaged by multiple pregnancies and stretch marks, which hamper contraction.
Since Ruffa expressed her desire to have another baby, if ever she decides to remarry, Dr. Vicki assured there is no problem in giving birth again even after the Bodytite procedure.
