Return of the It bag
Posted on

Oh my. Just when we thought It bags were dead and were just too happy to carry a Goyard, Herve Chapelier, or even an LL Bean tote—comes the new Chanel bags for Spring-Summer 2014.
I didn’t think it was my type until I saw the pictures on the website and they are just WOW.

I’m not a backpack person, so I’m more likely to get this—if I could ever get my hands on it—who knows?

As for girls who prefer the classic Chanel flap, this one looks like art

I should’ve checked while I was in Tokyo, but there was so much to do, so little time.

If Coco Chanel was still alive, I wonder what she would say about these bags and the previous bags with the hoola hoops. LOL.

I’m sorry Mademoiselle C, I cannot simply justify $3500 for this. And to think I used to do that to my own backpacks back in high school. Go all crazy with Lisa Frank colors, markers, stickers, patches whatnot. What is Karl Lagerfeld thinking?

OH my, just give it a couple of months and you’ll find something similar with the first 2 pics in Baclaran or greenhills.

If Chanel were to come up with plastic buckets (“balde”) with the Chanel logo on them and market them as $4,000 bags, I don’t think those would make much difference from these. I guess that’s how art/fashion works. XD

I’m an avid fan of your blog. I must say that those bags really fits you. You should get one of those. Not all people can carry such a bag with character.

Bagaholic Boy posted a blog about these bags. Apparently available in SG now.

Agreed. Karl Lagerfeld is really going downhill. I feel like right now, it’s just his name and reputation that’s carrying him, and not his talent and skills. He’s getting old, uninspired, and outdated — sometimes, it even seems he’s just copying from young designers. Chanel needs fresh blood. And can we talk about the trashy supermarket fashion show he just put out? Coco must’ve been turning in her grave.
