If you didn’t know yet, I have an Instagram account called @chuvafinds, which is dedicated to seeking unique items everywhere.
Some people have no patience for shopping. I do. Just drop me off at the mall, and if it’s a new mall to me, I’ll start on the highest floor and work my way down.
Last week I was invited to check out Century City Mall in Makati, which is owned by Century Properties. And I’m glad because I’ve never had the chance to explore that mall.
So I started at the top which has an event space and 12 Monkeys restaurant. But I wasn’t hungry so I went down this escalator
Construction going on. The barricade reminds me of Hayao Miyazaki
On the 3rd level, Le Petit Souffle caught my eye because of the decor.
Also because Chef Miko Aspiras of Scout’s Honor runs this place, which looks like outdoors indoor. I wonder if the food is as good as the interiors
Two of my favorite gadget stores are in the mall. Digital Walker is on the 3rd level
On the 2nd level is Beyond The Box, which is an Apple reseller
If you could get only one thing in the mall, what would you? So I got myself the Space Grey Mac I’ve been thinking about for months. At six months to pay, it’s affordable. 🙂
Also at the mall is a space called Mystery Manila, which is more for the older kids. It has mystery rooms where groups of people are locked in and given clues to solve a problem in order to get out.
Basically I’m chicken, so this one’s not for me 🙂
I went to Dimensione on the 3rd floor. It’s a homeowner’s wasteland, where I bought my organizing drawer bins a while back
I love the minimalist home accessories
They also have unique gift items, like this colorful spice rack
The little Toby’s Estate on the 3rd floor serves your specialty coffees from Australia with freshly baked goods
Right next to it are the cinemas, which I have yet to experience
Especially the premiere cinema which has the lazy boy seats
There’s a medium-sized Uniqlo on the 2nd floor where you can stock up on basics as well as winter wear, in case you’re traveling for the holidays
I love the macaron serving tray
And the sosy doggie toys
Speaking of sosy, there’s a posh-looking children’s store on the 2nd level called Chibi Momo, which looks more like it was plucked out of Madison Avenue.
At Bench Edited, they have the cute Albertus Swanepoel x BENCH hats
The Geraldine Javier collab
and the colorful camouflage slip-ons
On the first floor there’s a big Rubi store, which sells footwear at a steal
Check this out: three pairs of flip-flops for Php 500!
Love the marmy sandals
Next: I’ll be checking out Hole In The Wall at the 4th level as well as the stores in the basement. The mall isn’t as small as I thought apparently. It needs a second day to explore.

This post is for my friend Grace has the flu and has to stay in bed.
“Now is a good time to watch AlDub,” she says, but doesn’t know where to start.
Because Grace is a corporate girl. She’s at work at noon and doesn’t know what’s happening on noontime TV.
If you still don’t know what AlDub is about, here’s what you have to know:
1) AlDub is the loveteam of Alden Richards and Yaya Dub.
2) Who’s Alden Richards?
Real name: Richard Faulkerson Jr.
He was a struggling actor who started auditioning and joining talent contests since was a teen. Basically his career was going nowhere until he started hosting a segment in Eat Bulaga. This was Alden before.
The power of styling: This is Alden now on a good day. (note: very often, Alden/the stylist makes mistakes)
3) Who’s Yaya Dub?
Real name: Maine Mendoza
She was just a girl who was a closet artista. She started uploading Dubsmash videos that became viral. She was a culinary graduate who had a following before Eat Bulaga discovered her. Eat Bulaga created the role of Yaya Dub, where she plays yaya to Lola Nidora (played by Wally Bayola). She’s not bad looking.
4) AlDub was an accident and unplanned, and this is how it started. Yaya Dub is on location, while Alden Richards is based in the studio, so they don’t see each other for work.
This is the first time they “meet” via splitscreen. Allan K is in the studio and starts teasing them. It is apparent that Yaya seems to have a real crush on Alden. This is also the start of what became known as “pabebe wave.”
The audience picks it up. Eat Bulaga picks it up. The geniuses behind the show smell a hit, and they play up on the teasing on a daily basis until a loveteam is formed—all by accident. This is the magic of AlDub.
Every Thursday the show celebrates a “weeksary” and every month, a “monthsary.”
Here’s a funny episode that captures the cheesiness and essence of the show. I love the humanity of charity and giving to the poor and making light of their problems.
The couple had a cheesy first date here, which illustrates how crazy and brilliant are the people behind Eat Bulaga
The monumental home visit is here.
I’m going to spare you the lowlights of the show (please skip the amateur performers). You just have to see Alden cry when he sings their theme song.
Inalay ni Bae Alden ang pagkanta niya ng "God Gave Me You" kay Meng… Wala pa rin makakapigil sa kilig!

The home visit occurs in a “mansion” very near your mom’s house. Note that Alden and Maine do not really know each other so this like a real date. You can tell she is genuinely kilig. Not sure about the boy if he is acting or he is really into her. You tell me!
This was the best episode ever. I’m so glad I watched it live (with the maids screaming downstairs.) It blew me away.
Pumayag na si Lola Nidora na umakyat ng ligaw kay Yaya Dub! Muling kiligin sa #Kalyeserye! #AlDub

5) Alden and Maine are now the most in-demand endorsers earning millions (hello BIR!). Among their endorsements:
Talk & Text, McDonald’s, O+ phone, Zonrox bleach, 555 TUna and counting.
Oh, and Alden’s album is on Billboards Top 10. Yes he sings!
Some say AlDub is the Nora and Tirso of our time and I totally agree. I generally despise love teams and noontime shows, but AlDub brings out my inner maida!!
And that is all you need to know.
P.S. I’m gonna drag you to their movie this December. Get well soon!
