Jean-Paul Gaultier was one of the most important designers of the ’80s. When I was in college, many of us aspired to own a Gaultier, but most of us couldn’t afford it. I could probably count the number of Gaultier items I had with one hand or two.
Then Gaultier became a designer of the ’90s and got stuck there. It’s been a while since I’ve bought anything Gaultier, so I became interested when I head about his collaboration with Target.
Don’t hold your breath because this is Target in Australia.
In fairness, he looks like he hasn’t aged since the ’90s.
Here are my favorite pieces from the collection:
The adult and baby tutu skirts
Biker jackets for men, women, and children
Slip on shoes and sneakers
Bags and pouches
Kiddie stuff 🙂
Had this been a United States Target collaboration, I’m pretty sure it would have sold out to Ebayers.
Luckily it is in Australia, where it is still in stock and I have relatives. My chica sister-in-law Joy van Straten gifted me the tutu skirt, which was hand-carried with love by Ed Uy 🙂
