It’s the Philippine Star‘s 25th anniversary this month, so lots of events are happening in the city.
You may have noticed a few billboards on Edsa celebrating the personalities behind Philippine Star, such as columnists Ting Ting Cojuangco, Lucy Torres Gomez, and Rissa Mananquil for Bench.
Recently I did a photo shoot for Bench with Star columnists Adel Tamano, Quark Henares, Erwin Romulo, Jessica Zafra and Stephanie Zubiri. I think it’s coming out during the big anniversary party later this month.
Also Margarita Forés concocted two dishes especially for me and my editor/mentor Millet Mananquil.
The dishes are part of Philippine Star and Ayala Malls’ EAT Dining Festival from 8 July to 30 September 2011 only.
You can get the dish for free if you use your BPI credit card card (minimum Php 1,500 purchase at Ayala Malls) or you can order à la carte at participating restaurants.
Margarita created Queen Millet’s Bouchee ala Reine 25, a vol-au-vent (hollow case of puff pastry) with a melange of 25 creamed enoki and shimeji mushrooms spiked with champagne, watercress garlic cream, asparagus, mixed greens with white wine dressing. Available at Lusso, Greenbelt 5, Makati, for only Php 260.
For me, Margarita made Cecile’s Spaghettini ‘Il Classico ala Chuva: garlic, chilli pepper, parsley on spaghettini cooked in extra virgin olive oil and topped with bone marrow.
Available at CIBO Greenbelt 5, Glorietta 4, and Trinoma only.
Php 208 for a single order and Php 365 for La Famiglia.
Meat lovers Grace, Jay and I tried it at Cibo, Greenbelt 5, along with two orders of Tagliata di manzo Aglio Rosmarino. Washed down with a tall, cool glass of red grape shake, it was the perfect end to a satisfying meal. (Read: busog).
Thank you, Margarita Forés, Anthony Prudencio, Robert Lim, and your team!
