Hello Tokyo!
Posted on

I was supposed to be in Singapore with my boys. I was supposed to watch Chris Botti at Ayala Triangle. But when my mom mentioned Tokyo, I had a sudden change of plans.

My bags

Narita is an old airport, but thanks to upkeep and renovations, it’s not that bad. More functional than anything, but busy, busy

Spotted: Indian version of Pan Am.

Every public toilet here has extra rolls. Sana tayo din.

Had a quick snack while waiting for my sister to come out of interrogation (don’t ask)

At Narita your luggage can go up and down the escalator (just like Shopwise). My sister was shocked it could do that.

Even the public smoking areas are enclosed here

Waiting for the shuttle. Oops, one of my bags has bagteria 🙁

That’s my mom

Your mom is so gorgeous! i know it’s rude to ask for a woman’s age but i’m curious cuz she really looks young. How old is your mom, Cecile?
also, are Rimowa luggages really better? i’m in dire need of a new luggage.

I am reminded of your sister Ana’s comment that you are a “Rimowa family”. 🙂

I love the cute Coke bottle. And it is a bottle, right? Not a can?

PS. I thought your mom was shy about having her photos posted? 🙂

I’ve been living in Japan for 6 years now and if there’s one thing I can’t fault the country with, it’s how they maintain their toilets-public & otherwise. Apparently, Maria Sharapova wasn’t exaggerating when she said that Japan has the best toilets in the world. Enjoy your stay in Tokyo Ms. Chuvaness! Fab photos, by the way. 🙂

P.S. Chuva no okaasan wa bijin desu. (Your mom is a beautiful woman.)

Re: the extra tissue rolls… it’s a nice thing and all, but i wish people would have enough “kahihiyan” (or whatever its called) not to take them as freebies. In Ayala Cebu, I was waiting for my turn in the lounge area of the paid restroom. There were new rolls of tissue in the corner. A middle-aged woman got one and stuffed it in her bag and told the her companion to get one too because it was free, then they headed out. I was like, wtf? I know we were in a paid restroom, but to hoard tissue rolls?… Read more »
