Eat Bulaga franchise goes to Indonesia
Posted on

Filipinos love to follow franchised TV shows and series—anywhere from American game shows and reality shows, to Korean or Mexican telenovelas.
Now for the first time ever, another country is franchising a local TV show.
Eat Bulaga, the longest-running variety show in the Philippines will premiere in Indonesia this July 16, 2012 over Surya Citra Televisi or SCTV.
It will be hosted by a cast of 14, including: Uya Kuya, Aja Farid, Reza No, Ramzi, Narji, Ciripa, Rian Ibram, Rio Indrawan, Steven, Leo Consul, Selena Alexandria, Jenny Tan, Bianca Lizza and Julie Christie.

“We want this program to be a success like in the Philippines, where it has been running for the past 33 years,” said Harsiwi Achmad, Director of Programs and Production at Studio Penta SCTV.
“We’re not adapting 100% of the Philippines’ Eat Bulaga but will format in accordance with the state and introduce positive values, environmental campaigns, and sharing with others,” said Harsiwi.
The variety show will be packed with talent searches and games that will give away prizes and surprises in cash and in goods.
Content will include segments like Bolagaan, Karaoke Stud, Indonesia Genius, and One For All, All For One.
Translated, the title Eat Bulaga is derived from a game of peekaboo. The show can be followed by all ages.

This is not actually the first time that the Philippines went hand in hand with Indonesia for a production. In 1952, LVN Studios co-produced Rodrigo de Villa with Indonesia’s Persari Productions… The film starred Mario Montenegro and Delia Razon. But then again, Eat Bulaga’s situation now is another thing since it was franchised already. Good job to all the people behind Eat Bulaga!

OMG! When I first saw this news over Facebook, akala ko ‘di totoo. Now seeing it here at Chuvaness, I believe na. After all, this site is the Bible of all news in the entertainment world. Grabe and influence ng EB! Good luck sa EB Indonesia. I hope maging successful din ito sa bansa nila. Ibang level na talaga ang EB. Markado na talaga sa Philippine History 🙂

Good job naman ang Pinoy dyan! Pinoy pride! Although marami ring controversies yata sa EB show sabi ng mom ko (na mas nakakanood ng iba ibang noon time shows haha), may good contents pa rin naman para ma-franchise pa sya! Great job! (^_^)~Chai
