Dear Service Provider
Posted on

Thank you very much for the “privileged account” you offered me last June, 2010. I raved about it a few times, some people were convinced to switch—only to be disappointed.
Three months after you let me experience 12 mbps heaven, you downgraded my account to 3 mbps. When I asked why, you had no answer. Since then the Internet has gone from bad to worse.
This morning, I tried to upload photos to my Flickr. After 8 hours, I managed to upload only 6 photos at 0.44 mbps upload speed.
I have had problems with clients because my Internet sucks. And so, I’m writing to say thanks but no thanks.

I’m off to Beijing for work tomorrow. When I get back, I’ll have to shop around for another Internet company that works.
To be fair I tried to call my press contact and I was helped this evening by your customer care.
I requested a paid upgrade to 12 mbps, at my own expense. And while they “upgraded” me tonight, our Internet was still slow at your 12 mbps. I can’t explain it, they can’t explain it.
It now appears that they have pulled the plug on me and I’m updating with my backup.
I wish you hadn’t offered bad Internet to a blogger, even if it’s free.
Sorry to sound ungrateful, but I’ve been dropping subtle hints here and there and nothing happened.
Thank you and goodbye.

dati dial up mode si skybroadband, now in a turmoil na siya. wala na kong internet, nothing is working. no signal. i tried calling up their cs and it would take them 3 days before servicing my area. i am using smartbro as a backup, efficient naman.

I’m not sure if your plan has this, but I think you might have reached your monthly bandwidth limit already – http://www.cebutechblogger.com/2011/03/sky-broadbands-5mbps-for-php-999-aint.html

It’s a good thing that I’m seeing different reviews on ISPs. One thing I can say, buti na lang I haven’t hooked up with SKYBROADBAND. Nakakapagod na rin kasi mag-log sa Globe Tattoo. So it’s just PLDT for me? I heard good reviews from officemates as well on BayanTel, but I’m afraid it doesn’t cover the Paranaque area.

Comcast na lang or Cox. Pang asar ba? Our PLDT internet has been great. Good downloads and uploads. oooh if u can see our 2nd CPU at home. It is downloading 24/7/365. When the speed slowed down, PLDT guys came and looked at it and found nothing wrong. My brother changed the old PLDT free modem and amazingly ayun, bumilis uli. Try it. Goodluck.

I got a prepaid Globe MyFi end of Feb. The settings were put in by Globe. Worked OK. I live in an apartment building where every floor has Globe repeaters. My first problem: they limited unlimited surfing to 800 mbps. Now they say the Huawei I got has been reconfigured only for postpaid service, and I have to have my MyFi reset. Worse, if you call 211, all the CSR says are scripted answers. No real answers, even from supervisors. So it’s adios Globe MyFi for me. I just hope I can get my money back.

Hmmm…I think it depends on your area. I’ve been using Smart WiMax for about a year now and it’s fast for me. I can download a 2 hour movie in about an hour. I can upload a 350mb file in 20 or 30 minutes. My only complaina bout WiMax is that at around 10PM the connection drops for about 1-2 minutes because I can see my modem reconnecting but after that everything works great again. I really think it depends on your area because I’ve used Globe Broadband and PLDT MyDSL but so far Smart WiMax has been the best.

i have skybroadband and pldt dsl. right now i am a cityville addict. i called sky and asked why it’s so sloooooow nowadays and they gave me the same answer – it’s because of the earthquake in japan. so i thought i should stop complaining buti nga i have a connection. then skybroadband advertised the 5 mbps for 999 pesos. i thought i should just downgrade to that so i called their customer service. i told the person who called my what my internet habits are and he said ok naman daw yon cause i won’t finish 15 gbs in… Read more »

We have been with Bayantel DSL for five years already and we are happy with their service. When we moved to another house, we still subscribed to Bayantel. We had a problem with them once when their DSL connection wasn’t stable. We called their customer service and the technical/line men did not stop troubleshooting in our house until the problem was solved. Three different crew came to our house in a single day just to check on our trouble report – siyempre hindi sabay sabay, pero pag aalis nung isang group, after an hour may dadating na another group until… Read more »

Finally! Glad someone’s pointing this out to Sky Broadband! I too use it for work, and i’m pulling out my hair with frustration at their terrible service and speed. They have no answer for why their net is so terrible, so the best thing definitely that you’ve done is call them out on their horrible service…hats off Ms. C. 🙂

About Bayantel. My connection is Bayantel. Up to now im still satisfied with the connection. Lalo na pag gabi SPEED on DEMAND. Mabilis ang net lalo na sa Downloading. About SKY Broadband. Bwisit ang SKY BROADBAND. Dahil naenganyo ako itry yung 1.5mb nila. Tapos nag 15days trial ako. 1k Downpayment for the Modem. Medyo ok lang naman yung browsing sa NET. Ang napansin ko lang. SObrang Bagal ng Downloading. May CAPPING ang internet nila. Kabwisit. So ginawa ko is di ko na itinuloy. So kumontak ako sa kanila para rerefund yung dinown ko. I was supposed to switch last Feb from PLDT to SkyBroadband but the lady from their sales department told me it’s not available in my area yet. I was upset because I live in QC, walking distance to SM North, so I don’t get why my location sounded so rural. After reading your post, I’m just glad I got stucked with PLDT. My home is in QC too (also walking distance to SM North and Trinoma) and we have Sky and Bayantel as other options as well but we stuck to PLDT because they have a data center near our residential area and apparently, that accounts for the more or less stable connection we have.

I also live relatively near SM North and Trinoma but not walking distance. I was supposed to switch from Destiny (sobrang bagal) to Sky Cable and Broadband cos my friend who lives in Morato area said ok daw internet nila mabilis (not sure kung mabilis parin upto now). Pero sabi nila wala daw silang posteng malapit. I even bluffed them and said that if only they’d service our area our whole building would like to have Sky Cable. But no dice. So I switched to PLDT DSL and it’s been ok naman since then. It’s been unusually slow lang this… Read more »

buti nga sa kanila! unfortunately, i switched from PLDT to Sky bundle (internet and cable). mula nung nagswitch ako, hindi na ko makapaglaro ng Scrabble sa FB or kahit mag-Looklet lang. pahirapan magsave ng look! OA sa bagal ‘tong Sky internet. if i had a choice, i would switch back to PLDT. i saved a few bucks only to suffer very slow internet connection! ang kaso naka-2 year lock in period daw. though wala akong pinirmahang kahit ano. will try to contest. nakakainis na e. hassle.

I dunno if Bayantel is available in Pasig, Ms. C. What I love about them is if they say they are fixing it the problem (which is i understand naman na will happen from time to time), they will do so in 24hrs. Sometimes when we experience disconnection, they even give promises of being connected in a certain hour, and they did. Now THAT is excellent after service! I live in QC, btw & in no way connected to any Bayantel people. [Reply]Pao_potato Reply:April 12th, 2011 at 11:15 PMive been hearing good stuff about Bayan DSL however, we don’t have… Read more »
