The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Philippines holds its art auction this February 4, 2012 at Finale Art File.
Since its establishment in 2000, the ACC Philippines together with ACC New York Foundation, has been providing grants to over 60 Filipino artists in various disciplines.
In the last two years, grants were given to nine Filipino artists in the fields of visual arts, museology, enthomusicology, theater, and music.
This year’s auction features works of Filipino masters and top contemporary artists courtesy of ACC gallery partners: Artis Corpus Art Gallery, Art Verite, Big Gallery, Boston Gallery, Crucible Gallery, FinaleArt File, Galleria Duemila, Galerie Joaquin, Kingkong Art Projects Unlimited, Liongoren Gallery, Mag:Net Gallery, Manila Contemporary, Pinto Gallery, Silverlens Gallery, Sining Kamalig, The Drawing Room Gallery and Tin-Aw Gallery.
Some of the most distinguished visual artists and ACC grantees have also pledged participation in the event.
This year, a special segment will be dedicated towards the medical expenses of 2011 ACC Grantee Lirio Salvador, a multi-media artist, who was bound for New York to begin his ACC fellowship program last month.
On December 30, 2011, he figured in a hit-and-run accident that required him to undergo intensive brain surgery. While he was recently released from the ICU, he remains in the hospital for critical care.
The ACC benefit Art Auction is on Saturday, February 4 at 4PM at the Finale Art File, La Fuerza Compound, Pasong Tamo, Makati.
