Watch out Kris Aquino. There’s a mega endorser in town and it’s not you (and it’s not Sharon, hehe).
She can sell anything from canned sardines to MAC lipstick.
She’s not an It Girl. She has no showbiz lineage. And she didn’t even try.
Like many teens today, she grew up on technology. She also happens to be gifted in creating viral Dubsmash videos.
Eat Bulaga‘s new golden girl is Maine Mendoza, also known as Yaya Dub or 1/2 of Kalyeserye’s phenomenal love team, AlDub.
Earlier while watching Eat Bulaga, I noticed that almost all the girls in the audience were wearing bright red lipstick and found it very strange. I knew it had to do with Yaya Dub whose lipstick shade, quite frankly, bothers me.
But makeup addict Dinna Vasquez told me Maine was wearing MAC Cosmetics’ Ruby Woo, according to makeup artist Krist Bansuelo who did her makeup for a recent TV commercial.
Said Dinna: “Ruby Woo is one of MAC Cosmetics’ iconic shades. The cool-toned red isn’t easy to wear. It has MAC’s Retro Matte formula, which can be very drying. But if you want attention-getting lips, Ruby Woo is the way to go.”
After Krist Bansuelo used the shade on Maine Mendoza, many of her fans wanted their own tube of Ruby Woo.
According to MAC sales people, Ruby Woo is sold out in most of the brand’s 14 branches because of Yaya Dub.
Women would come in and ask, “Which one is Yaya Dub’s lipstick?”
Ruby Woo was a difficult shade to find even before Yaya Dub, and now it’s almost impossible to find.
Dinna’s hint: If Ruby Woo is out of stock and you want something close, Russian Red is the exact dupe but in a different finish.
