Breast cancer is close to my heart because I lost two good friends to breast cancer: Penny Ong and Chinky Santiago. I thank God my dear friend Rita Nazareno is still alive and doing well, five years after being diagnosed.

Rita is proof that there’s life after breast cancer.
Now Rita is one of ICanServe Foundation’s members.

Since it was established in 1999, ICanServe Foundation has become one of the biggest and most influential foundations for breast cancer in the Philippines.
Run by passionate cancer survivors, ICanServe’s mission is to support women with breast cancer through early detection breast exams and community-based programs that extend medical support and empower women through education and information.

On October 13, 2016, ICanServe will present Fashion Can Serve at the Raffles Makati. The fundraising event aims to benefit its Ating Dibdibin program.
Participating are some of the country’s top designers, models, and muses, and breast cancer survivors with their friends and family.
The stories of triumph and survival will be interpreted by designers Randy Ortiz, Dennis Lustico, Patrice Diaz, Rosanna Ocampo, Mark Bumgarner and Patty Ang.

Bringing light and authenticity to the show, surgeons and doctors together with real breast cancer survivors and their “breast friends” will serve as models and muses as they walk down the ramp beside them.
These include Bibeth Orteza and her son Rafa Siguion Reyna, Beth Romualdez and her daughter Via Reyes, sisters-in-law Margarita and Malou Fores (who are both survivors), Amanda Luym and her close friend & cousin Cacay Moras-Server, Chuchu Madrigal and her daughter Alex Eduque, and Frances Yu and sister Crickette Tantoco.

How to win one of 20 Mercedes-Benz cars from NANKID!
Posted on

For children three years and above, NESTLÉ Research Center has developed NANKID® OPTIPRO® FOUR and NANKID® OPTIPRO® HW FOUR—the only preschool milk with optimized protein, a high quality, lower quantity milk protein that supports age appropriate weight gain and optimal development.

Nankid

Ditas Sagarbarria, Scientific and Medical Relations Officer of Nestlé Philippines, said milk is okay but you can do your child more good by giving him milk with protein that is optimized.
“Proteins are one of the most important nutrients for your child’s growth and development, and contribute to the building of the brain, muscles, and body. The quality and amount of proteins your child gets today can also help build a nutritional foundation for life,” said Sagarbarria.
The right amount of protein can help prevent obesity. Since small children should be taking lower quantities of protein, parents need to balance this by giving their kids quality digestible protein.

As a special treat to NANKID OPTIPRO FOUR and NANKID OPTIPRO HW FOUR consumers, Nestlé is giving away 20 Mercedes-Benz electric powered cars worth Php 50,000 each.
Buy limited edition packs of NANKID OPTIPRO FOUR and NANKID OPTIPTO HW FOUR and find the special code inside.
Text the code to 2600 and your child could be on his way to driving his or her own Mercedez-Benz SLS AMG Roadster electric-powered children’s car.
Promo runs from September 15 until November 15, 2016.

Hello Tokyo!
Posted on

Hello I’m in Tokyo with Grace!
Came here without a plan except to shop, eat, and see my friend Sayoko.
We flew JAL because we were scared of the recent computer glitch at Delta.

Japan Airlines

JAL vs. Delta
JAL 767-300 plane was so small but we had such a good flight!
But Delta business class feels much more luxurious than JAL business class.
JAL plane feels like a box, but I’ll take a safe non-bumpy flight anytime. Thank You Lord!
We landed at night. Unpacked my clothes.

I love the Ritz-Carlton bathroom

First thing the following day, we hit Barbacoa, my family’s favorite restaurant

cheese rolls, Barbacoa

Dropped by the A/D Gallery at Roppongi Hills, where I loved the work of Yasuka Goto

Quick snack at Muji Yurakucho which serves the best soft cream, in my opinion

Ever since I found out my left leg is shorter by .5cm, I’ve been obsessed with finding .5cm insoles, which Muji has in gingham!! Hoarded these! If there is anyone out there who’s been diagnosed with a shorter right leg, please leave a comment and I’ll send you the right insoles.

Muji

Following day: Lunch at Shake Shack Ebisu where line wasn’t long and I thought I could finish two single burgers (read: maling akala). Still the best burger in the world, in my opinion

Then a 15-minute walk to Le Labo in Daikanyama where I thought I could buy Rose 31 conditioner (maling akala part 2….grrr….) Beautiful store though

Le Labo

Had a slightly horrible experience at Café Kitsune which I’d rather not talk about. I still get shocked whenever I encounter rude Japanese people because I really don’t expect it. Let’s just say, never again!

Yohji Yamamoto saved the day. Doc Tere is right. I am liking this more than Comme des Garçons. Will invest more in Yohji from now on.

Love this coat

Thanks, Minami-san!

Quick stop at the Mother Ship, Comme des Garçons where I saw our favorite shop girl, Yuka Ito.

Back to hotel. Had the most delicious chutoro bowl takeaway. Best eaten in pajamas

Good night for now.
