How to win a special giveaway from Taguig

When I first met Lani Cayetano in 2007, I knew her as the wife of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano—or the woman behind the man

Alan Peter and his wife Lanie

Through the years I’ve gotten to know her a little better, and got to like her

Jeroen, Alan, Lani Cayetano

I like that she has remained simple—she is never garbed in designer labels—even with her change in stature

Since 2010, she has been the beloved, respected, and hardworking Mayor of Taguig.

Manny Villar swears in Lani Cayetano

When she’s not cutting ribbons, she is working behind the scenes to make Taguig a better place

Very recently, I found out that students in Taguig public schools enjoy free head-to-toe school uniforms, shoes and other school supplies, apart from the free education.
AS a mom, I find these so touching, knowing that many parents in Taguig needn’t worry about their kids going to school.
Taguig's free school supplies
For me, it sounds unreal! I really want Lani for President or First Lady!!
This year the Taguig notebook was extra special IMO, because my sister Ana was asked to design them for free.
Each Taguig public school student gets a set of these for the school year. You can check Ana’s site HERE.

I like them so much, I asked Lani if she could spare some for my readers, and she sent me a box! (they were extras)
To make the giveaway extra special, I packed them in five faux-leather train cases from Korea

I added some CarbTrim iced tea mixes—a great weight management solution

And threw in a couple of random Mich Dulce x BENCH hair accessories (items may vary) and a Botong Francisco x FREEWAY mousepad. The train case also comes with a removable shoulder strap.

Kudos to Mayor Lani for not putting her face on the school supplies. I know other politicians would’ve plastered their ugly, corrupt faces on everything they give away for free. :)

I commend politicians like Lani who supports education by giving the students free school uniform, books, notebooks, and even free tuition fee most specially the primary and secondary levels as this are critical stages in one’s quest for a better tomorrow.

i commend mayor cayetano for her project with the school kids, laking tulong din yan and i agree with Androa with her comment about shameless gov. officials plastering names in the stuff they do for their community in a very tacky and god awful way. That is the first thing i looked kung meron bang malaking name nya instead she put taguig first as she should. thank you for posting this miss c! May the post encourage others for other needy children instead of criticizing.

“I like that she has remained simple- she’s never garbed in designer’s label- even with her change in stature” … give it a break, will you? There are the sweetest and most generous people who are fully garbed in designer’s label and many who are the greediest, miserly, scrooges with the ugliest attitude on this planet.

    Dear Cecille,
Maybe you can just donate the notebooks to other children in need? I’m sure there are groups that would be interested in taking donations from the extra blessings of Taguig. Or maybe you can get in touch with Rhiza, one of the commenters on this post? I think most of your readers will want the other freebies anyway (like the bag) and the notebooks could just end up not being used at all. We would understand your reasons for taking out the notebooks from the giveaways. But its very nice of Mayor Lani to help her constituents in this way during the start of the school year, and also for your sister to have donated her time and talents, God bless,

Ma-ombudsman? For notebooks that probably aren’t worth more than PHP 1,000? To the sister of the girl who illustrated the notebooks for free? Who is also giving them away? Sheeesh.

The administrative costs of filing a case with the ombudsman over these notebooks is probably 20X the cost of the notebooks. If ito patulan nila while other politicians misappropriate tens of millions of pesos, ewan ko na lang. Ewan.

Please consider looking beyond Chuvaness just merely getting the free notebooks. She asked for them to be given away. One purpose of putting posts up in a blog and for giving away stuff is awareness. Now we’re aware that there’s something like this going on and it can inspire other people help.
