Another month to go before Awkward Season 2 starts June 28!
When Christian outgrew the baby chair he uses at my parents’ house, I started looking around for a replacement he can use for many years, and one that doesn’t look like a baby chair.
Three years ago, I bought this baby chair at Dimensione, and funny how time flies. It served us well during many Sunday lunches and family dinners.
We took the box to my parents’ home
and I was supposed to assemble it, but then the kids got down and did everything for me!
My nephew Miko is an expert in building furniture
Christian tries it for height
So safe, he can even step on it
The Tripp Trapp Stokke chair is available at Mothercare Greenbelt 5 • Shangri-la Plaza • TriNoma • Abreeza Mall, Davao • Robinsons Galleria • Petaluma, Bonifacio High Street • SM Masinag
Mike Delfino never looked this amazing.
After they killed off his character in the last season of Desperate Housewives, I never thought I’d see actor James Denton again. So it was a pleasant surprise to see him as the new face of Daniel Hechter’s major Spring/Summer 2012 campaign—shot by no less than internationally renowned photographer and filmmaker, Peter Lindbergh.
To celebrate 50 years of Daniel Hechter, Lindbergh photographed Denton and model Hanna in Paris’ most beautiful locations. The shoots were staged in three motifs—bathed in blue, red and silver light—to symbolize the spirit of the French brand.
The cool blue motif shows Denton and Hanna on Place du Trocadero with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
The red scene was shot inside Le Crazy Horse de Paris, the Parisian cabaret known for its aesthetically spectacular nude shows.
To symbolize love and romance, Peter Lindbergh set the carousel at the Eiffel Tower in a dreamy, silvery scene—like a Parisian fairy tale full of style and belle allure.
Watch James Denton, Hanna, and Peter Lindbergh at work in Paris. Next time I’m gonna ride this carousel.
Daniel Hechter is at SM The Block • Robinsons Galleria • SM Megamall • SM Mall of Asia • SM Pampanga • The Podium • Shangri-la Plaza
Last April 14, 2012, Heima home store presented a two-man show featuring the paintings of Soleil Ignacio and Tokwa Penaflorida at Cubao X.
Meet the artists: Soleil (L) and Tokwa, in front of their collaborative piece
Their watercolor paintings depict mermaids and water nymphs characterized by flowing locks, lithe bodies and innocent gazes.
Born and raised in an artistic environment, creating art comes out naturally to Tokwa Penaflorida.
Inspired by art nouveau and fashion illustrations, his works depict feelings of longing, lust, and sensuality.
At the age of 23, this graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts has already published two childrenʼs books. You can view more of his work at http://tokwap.tumblr.com/.
Soleil’s fondness for drawing portraits of girls with innocent gazes and fabulous, flowy hair comes from her childhood fascination with mermaids.
She holds a Bachelorʼs Degree in Visual Communication from the College of Fine Arts in UP Diliman, where she focused on graphic design. Before venturing out on her own as a freelance illustrator, she worked as an art director for local magazines, refining her skills in graphic design and typography.
Having been featured in numerous local and international magazines and websites, Soleil continues to strive and explore the realm of fashion illustration and hopes to work and collaborate with fashion brands in the industry.

I think it’s lovely that I can be friends with someone on an opposite pole. Rajo Laurel, for instance, usually celebrates his birthday with a big party with tons of celebs dressed in pink, while I like to keep it quiet and simple.
This year, Rajo decided not to have a big party, and instead celebrate with BENCH and Michael Cinco in a fashion show on Sunday, May 27th at SMX.
On his actual birthday, May 19th, Rajo said he actually missed having a party, so Ginggay organized a really small dinner at Masseto with just five people: Rajo and his partner of 8 years Nix Alañon, Penny, Ginggay, and I.
Masseto is really hard to find as it is hidden in Valero Street, with no visible signs, except for this Victor & Rolf-like marker on the wall.
I found the gang having drinks next door to the newly opened Bar M, which is small and chic and nobody knows about. Be prepared to wear fall fashion as the aircon is ridiculously cold. Lovett! Rajo was looking good after having lost some weight and some help from Spanx
Spotted: talented Chef Tippi Tambunting, who’s always friendly
and the charming Shauna Jay Popple of Tatler magazine.
What I love about Bar M is how pretty the lavatory looks.
I have great respect for restaurant owners who care about how their loo looks. Sorry, I had to take a picture.
We moved over to Masseto for dinner and started with the delicate chorizo appetizer in thin pasty shell
I had the scallop in garlic butter
This lovely sorbet
Two slices of bread + butter. And I was full!
Here’s my vintage transparent Kelly from Japan.
My fashion icon, Penny
and the gang
Happy birthday Rajo! Next dinner is on the house—mine!
