The Why and the moving on

Sometime last December or January, I was asked if I were willing to be interviewed for an article Jenna Sauers was writing about someone I used to know.
It was during the holidays and I couldn’t be bothered to go on Skype and put it together. Truthfully I just wanted him—the problem to go away—sort of like Bernie Madoff or the Birkin scammer who has fled to Texas.

When Jenna’s article came out in the New York Observer, I was disappointed that her article lacked many important facts, and I regretted the missed opportunity to say something.
So when fate brought me to Bangkok last April and I met Paolo Reyes of Rogue magazine, he talked about a profile they were doing on a certain blogger I used to know. He asked if I were willing to go on the record and help them put the story together. And with that I said yes. No more missed opportunity.

Now that the magazine is out, his friends/fans/supporters are asking why now? Why can’t I just move on?
How to move on when this creature and his sidekick continue to attack me online (parinig on Twitter) or anonymously in forums.
I am tired when people just assume I am jealous of him and his achievements.
I am baffled when I see that someone so evil can be acclaimed even by the same people he has tried to ruin on his evil blogs.
I am baffled with the short memory and that people don’t seem to mind that he got where he is by ruining lives—and by accumulating numerous credit card accounts.

To be jealous would be to assume that I want his life of traveling around the world, siting in the front row of fashion shows, being photographed and featured in magazines, going to all kinds of events, and spending like money grows on trees.
Fashion used to fascinate me when I was younger. But when I became a mom, my life changed, my goals changed. Even my weight changed.
My close friends will all tell you I would rather stay home in my sweats and with my boys.

comfort

The past two days have been crazy ever since the magazine was released in print and on Zinio.com.
I had a three-hour lunch yesterday with Fr. Allen of Calaruega, who gave me spiritual guidance and I am grateful for the friends and their moms who are praying for me through this difficult time, because to talk about the past is to relive the the nightmare and the firsthand experience of knowing what this evil person is capable of.

So yes I will move on. I can now move on because I have said my piece. And if people still choose to worship him, then we probably can’t be friends because our values are different and your motives will always baffle me.

P.S. Before Rogue went to publish, it was read through by their lawyers while I have my own lawyers on backup.
I am very sorry if there were other people I mentioned as a matter of storytelling. I have no ill feelings or any intention to confront or hurt any of them. I wasn’t able to see the final draft as I had to leave for New York with my mom.
You are victims too and you know who you are. I hope we can still be friendly.

That so-called exposé is a dud. Its wild accusations are unsubstantiated and quoted people who have obviously an axe to grind against Bryan Boy. Any serious investigative journalism would have included interviews with law enforcement officials who are experts on credit card fraud. That Brian uses credit cards with variants of his name is no proof that he is involved in fraudulent activities. Any smart card holder must make it a point to have a list of all their credit card numbers for security reasons. If their card/s is/are lost or stolen, they can easily reference it when calling their bank/s to report the loss. The article made a big stink about Bryan having such a list, based on the biased observation of a woman traveling companion who now hates Brian. Bryan is an original and his success story is the fulfillment of yet another American Dream. He is a hit in the US because he personifies the embodiment of American rugged individualism. He marches to the beat of his own drums. Respected publications like The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times continue to run mostly positive stories about him. In fact, WSJ just interviewed him at the start of fashion week in New York. Do you think if this credit card story has legs, these publications would not have pursued it like crazy? Bryanboy has been anointed by fashion maven Anna Wintour as one of the most influential fashion voices in the world. His success will continue for years especially after his signing a contract with an LA-based talent powerhouse that also represents some of the world’s biggest artists, writers and entertainers.

as long as he has people fawning over him and he sells, no one will stop him because he is making money and sales for others. he may be using other people to get up there, but other people are also using him to sell their wares. too bad for those used by him…you can bet that the people who are saying they are on good terms with himdont really trust him within an inch of their life. those that do trust him will find themselves disappointed and betrayed in the future. his only loyalty is to himself.

great! how is he responding? by going to forums and leaving bad comments about me and Gorrell. instead of defending himself, all he can do is say libelous stuff about me and my family

    I can’t help but be cynical. People won’t ”
withdraw support once they realize how immoral their supposed heroes are” even after several lifetimes have passed. Aguinaldo, Hitler, Marcos… so many blinded people.

I guess we can’t please everyone, threads via the female network show a lot of CVS haters. Well to each his own. As for me, people can move on, but forgetting about things in the past is very difficult, unless magka amnesia ka…

A lot of people do tend to forget easily and quickly. Especially in the race to be the most famous in the blogosphere. Some people would turn a blind eye and deaf ear just to have their faces and names placed next to a popular person even if that person is of questionable character.

Just stay true to yourself as always, Ms C. That’s the top reason why a lot of people admire you. More power!=)

Hey, you should know that not
all creatures who dislike you adore Bryanboy (and vice versa).  It is hilarious to think that Bryanboy and a sidekick
continue to attack you online by being anonymous (like me). People attack you
by messages, comments and tweets simply because you’re also nakaka-JIRITA. You
are equally delusional  if you think that you can sleep in peace and the world will
love you back by doing this “expose”. More power to you and your real comfort.

Problem with people nowadays is that they use the term “hater” loosely. When you express something about them that is not to their liking they would think immediately that you’re just bitter or envious. Crazy lang diba? Following that logic, we should all be called “haters” and shouldn’t judge others for expressing their “hate” towards others or something because we’re all the same. We’re all bitter. We’re all filled with envy. We’re all haters.

Whatever happened to preferences, choices and expressing yourself. Sheesh.

BB’s blogpost does not have the Philippine audience in mind, and that is his prerogative. It works for a different culture from which he has value- the international fash pack. Siguro influence na rin from hanging out with CVS at an early age, he does have a propensity for urban street avant-garde. BB’s writing is campy but they are few since he sat in the Front Row. I don’t enjoy reading his fashion insight, I don’t get the aesthetic but I totally get it from a class distinction point of view (Pierre Bourdieu).
What worked for us was, Chikatime because we liked our archetypal Donya Victorina kaso pinatsugi naman ni JE. The next best thing is Chuvaness when it is snarky.
