Where I used to live

From 1991-1995 I lived in midtown Manhattan, starting at my tita’s place on 333 East 55th.

Right next to this is the church I used to visit daily—St. John the Evangelist.

It is known for its pipe organs.

(Note: Church-going boys are a huge turn on, especially if they’re cute and not with their girlfriends. Even more cute if you see them in deep prayer. +1000 pogi points)

During the ’90s I considered this a very modern-looking church, that’s why I loved this place.

This is where I used to buy groceries. It used to be called The Associated. Memories of buying roast chicken with Chelo and yogurt for my dad here.

You will recognize it because of its iconic pyramid-like top.

When I graduated, my dad had it rented out before finally selling it at a good price.
I honestly didn’t know if and when I would ever see this place again. I’m just happy to be here right now, but I don’t think I want to live here again.

    Ah, the East 40s! I stayed in this neighborhood as well, and loved the fresh corned beef at The Associated! What is the grocery called now?

    so your an east side girl. Did you take the 4,5,6 down to union square or was the fashion campus already in 42nd? You should have lived in the village it’s more  convenient and a nicer walk for me to Parsons especially if you have a lot of materials to bring to school.

    I really really love NYC! Recently I was there for a month (July) and the heat was bordering on unbearable but still… I love walking around the Village in my shorts and shirts with rolled-up sleeves, just strutting my stuff haha

    NY must have several nice restaurants, esp in your hotel’s area.  Did you visit any yet? I love the church, so modern yet so serene.

    I went to new york 2001 i think december after the 9/11 bombing… the debris of the twin tower was still there :(

    i used to live in new york too in the late eighties.  i loved it and learned so much.  My last visit was around 2005 and it now has a different vibe to it…maybe because i am older and do not feel like i belong anymore.  NYC is for the young and fearless…i still love it but like you i can’t imagine living there anymore..
