A very sneaky peek at Kusama x Louis Vuitton’s 2nd collection

I feel tense whenever they mention “second collection” before Mass ends. Same with Yayoi Kusama’s collaboration with Louis Vuitton. While the first collection launched last July 10, it’s confirmed that a second collection will come out in October.
That means some of us have/had to decide whether to buy from this collection or the next. Like Mich Dulce who was frantically BBMing me from the Greenbelt 4 store last Saturday. She couldn’t decide whether to buy any of these bags or wait till October.

Mich

Well, Mich, after some intense Googling I found some pics and footage which give us an idea of what’s in store for Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton fans this October.
During its launch in the New York flagship store last Tuesday, Yayoi Kusama had this very stylish black and white Papillon

These were grabbed from Louis Vuitton’s YouTube channel: the Papillon in black and white

and red and black

Plus a green Keepall

These grabs came from July 2012 Elle, don’t know which country though. There’s the Keepall in red

And a Speedy in blue with the monogram in the background

Here’s a very blurred grab of a Neverfull

And that’s all I have for now. What do you think?

just from a quality and biz point of view, always buy the first issue because the reason for a second is to copy the success of the first since the market has been tested  In the first issue, a designer will always make it the best bec s/he thinks it may be the last….BUT by the second, you will know how to re-cost to get better margins–that means cheaper trims, materials, more volume with higher prices..I have found this to work for fashion, real estate, food and even dog training! And as we have seen from the IPO of FB, if you make too much available, the value goes down….

    Verdict?
    - Mich hasn’t looked any better
    - Ms Kusama is well well preserved
    - If I were her, I’d get a motorized wheelchair
    - That blurred grab is very eerie, it reminds me of The Ring video lol

I think it looks better than the first collection actually!
The varying sizes of the polka dots give the bags more texture.
