Cirque du Soleil returns to Manila with its vibrant signature production Saltimbanco from August 9-19, 2012 at the Mall Of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Saltimbanco is Cirque du Soleil’s longest-running touring show and has performed since 1992 to sell-out audiences in Europe, North and South America, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand, for more than 11.5 million enthusiastic fans.
With a cast of 50 high-caliber artists hailing from 20 different countries, Saltimbanco (from the Italian “saltare in banco,” which literally means “to jump on a bench”) features breathtaking acrobatics and athleticism.
Witness seemingly impossible balancing, jumping, and spinning during Chinese Poles or Russian Swing, to gravity-defying Bungees and Trapeze, crowd-pleasing Juggling and Acrobatic Bicycle, and the celebrated Cirque du Soleil Clowns.

    Hi Cecile, I saw this show when they came to HNL, it was excellent. One of my teachers is a Cirque member, and I’ve taken other aerial workshops with a few other members from other shows too. They tell us stories some times, and it’s so mind boggling what they go through. They’re truly extraordinary people, not just extraordinary athletes. I don’t think people realize what it takes for each cast member to get into Cirque…

    Here’s a really interesting Youtube on what aerial artists go through just to get a chance to be a part of Cirque. Some of the ones in this vid are in Saltimbanco. I love this video because you can see how human they are off stage. We only see and expect the superhuman onstage. Naiyak ako sa ending.

    Personally, I save money to see Cirque. I think they’re worth every penny, but that’s just me.

    This is the best news ever! Thanks!! Can’t wait to watch this. If only I have the means & time, I WOULD  watch all of their shows, be them perfect or not!  That’s how much I LOVE Cirque!!!

    Watched their show at the tent a few months ago, and a lot of their performers were not as good, tumbling several times, while the kiddie performers also stumble with their whirling things.  At such a pricey tickets, I would at least expect a clean performance, not mediocre one.

    Girlll ang mahal, this is the oldest Cirque show in rotation–it’s not as good as Varekai. Let’s see what happens.
