Just for fun: Who are your top senatorial bets?

When it comes to elections, I’m a loser. Whoever I’m for never wins—whether it’s a presidential election (US or Philippines) or even Miss Universe.
I know my readers’ opinions don’t necessarily reflect the opinions of the masses, so just for fun I’m conducting a poll of who your top 12 senators are. The results may surprise us.
Choose up to 12 names below.
P.S. One of the candidates is my kamag-anak. Can you guess which one?

JVEJERCITO ESTRADA  has become not only a politician but a unique public servant that continues to inspire the Filipino youth to serve our country with honor and dedication. JV belongs to the new breed of public servants that puts the interest of the country above self. JV had been continuously upholding the principles of “bayan muna bago ang sarili” which makes him truly “A Man for Others.” #LikeKoYON

Hi guys.

Ano nga pla INDUSTRIYA NATIN DITO… parang wala yata.
Iboto natin ang mga tao na FAVOR FOR ITEMIZED BUDGETING para talagang walang BOGUS, CORRUPTION at BIDDING. Kailangan yung FAVOR FOR FREEDOM OF INFORMATION para transparent. Di na kaialngn sabihin na TUWID ang DAAN… kung Ayaw naman sa FOI.
Paalala lang po sa ating mga nakatatanda… Kinabukasan po namin mga kabataan ang nkasalalay dito.

Hi everyone. PLEASE know the credentials, achievements, background, history, and platforms of all the candidates. If you have the time, you can watch the Senatorial Candidates’ one on one interview with Ms. Karen Davila on ANC’s HEADSTART. Very insightful interviews (and shocking revelations too!) to help you choose your magic 12. Just search ‘ancalerts’ on Youtube and all interviews are in one playlist. I hope by sharing this information and telling all my friends and relatives to do the same, i am doing a small part in helping our country have better politicians since i am not in the Philippines, plus not a registered voter yet to actually cast my vote. God bless everyone and God bless the Philippines.

Thank you Ms. C for taking this issue into your audience. I have made my selections, and I’m going for PNoy’s team. Although I’m wary of some of the names and may give them up for others, I trust PNoy to make a necessary compromise if they advance his good causes. That is simply the kind of goodwill that refreshingly became evident three years into his term. He is not perfect, he can be tactless at times but we have learned to trust him, and to trust him even more.

Respected columnist Boo Chanco in his Feb 25 column ended with this line: “I know it is difficult to vote for Chiz or Loren or Koko and Trillanes. To suspend or not our better judgment is the dilemma we have to grapple with between now and May.”  I wanted to ask him what his specific reasons are, especially on the matter of Koko. Chiz is one name on the bottom of my list – let’s not forget it was because of him Binay became Vice-President. Loren, well, she can wear her ethnic garments and talk about the environment until she turns green but for 200 million pesos, a lot of people can probably do these two things better.
The Philippines being what it is, we claim to be democratic but frankly, we behave like we don’t deserve to be one. Our electorate, or rather the big chunk of it, simply will vote for whatever’s directly convenient and beneficial to them. Come election time, I will do my ‘light a candle instead of curse the darkness’ act and create a list of Do and Don’t candidates and share them with my yayas, my driver and my shop’s employees (and my neighboring shop’s employees).

I know PNOY endorse the whole slate but how about those who are really sincere to push reform in the government, Our country had NO INDUSTRY but we have LAND that can be cultivated. I’m just wondering why government to focus on AGRICULTURAL since as of the moment this what we have. Why they need to FOCUS ON MINING which can destroy our natural resources. When I watch Teddy A. Casiño on the news and debate of Senators. He become one of the 12 for me. Maybe you can consider him. Check this site http://www.facebook.com/CasinoforSenatorMovementVoteMakabayanCoalition

    Hi,

I did not bother to know, until now (thanks for this), who’s running for the senatorial or any other political positions for this election, (I got tired of knowing especially when almost nothing is being accomplished for our nation). And, it is more disappointing to see the siblings of the old and usual “wise men” capitalizing on the names of their fathers. I mean, they should make a name for themselves to be worthy of running for the position.

But what the heck, they’re already there listed. They should then take the challenge of making their names and not to be branded as just “frontier” of their old men.

Oh, I just watched an old tv series of MacGyver and in one of his dialog I learn a sensible lesson: A foolish man knows the answer and the wise man  keeps on guessing.
