Just say no

I don’t understand why Sarah Geronimo has to wear a bad wig in her movies with John Lloyd Cruz.
She’s a pretty girl with nice hair. Can’t they just dye it or curl it, if they wanted to make her look “Americanized”?
Why resort to bad wigs?
Just say no, Sarah G.
Surely when they make you wear a bad wig there’s a this little voice telling you this looks wrong. But maybe you’re too nice to complain. Someone has to say it.
If you’re not sure about what the director is telling you to wear, consult a stylist.
Consult Liz Uy, Millet Arzaga, Alodia Gosiengfiao, or something. Consult a woman.
If they wanted to hire someone who looks like Eugene Domingo, they should’ve hired Eugene Domingo.
I enjoyed your movie with JLC, A Very Special Love but this one, I’m just gonna say no.
P.S. John Lloyd can also say no. He can say, “I’m not gonna kiss that bad wig. Nope. Not doing it.”

talaga naman nakakadistract yang wig na yan na naka fly away..kaya nadamay tuloy ung buong movie nawalan na din ng sigla parang yung wig lang ni sarah na matigas..ang corny na..prang naging pilit din yung character nila matet and joross.

There are SO many pinoy movies with actresses wearing bad wigs. I’m not so sure they all know that we all know that it’s a wig and it looks horrendous! Get ko naman they need to look different pero keri naman yun ng buhok nila, ang dami kayang hollywood actresses na umiiba ng buhok just for a role. :D

Finally someone said it, OFF WITH THAT WIG! :D

That’s what I heard too, haha! A weird signature because all the leading ladies are beautiful and have great hair! But I guess it works because Cathy Molina’s movies are all hits.

I agree, I hate the wig! But in Sarah’s defense, her character calls for exactly just that it seems: bad hair and quirky outfits (which the movie stylist achieves if that’s their goal, in my opinion). And the wig sort of works with the character’s personality. The wig is the magic! Btw, Sarah is actually styled by Liz Uy and Pam Quinones for shoots and events!

If I’m not mistaken, the stylist is Ian Soriano (saw the credits at the end of the movie). He’s to blame with all of this! hehehe Seriously, the wig was pretty distracting, though at times, it looks natural. Depende siguro when they shot that particular scene. I was looking closely at all her scenes if there was ever one (scene) when she didn’t use any wigs – wala talaga. Nakakainis lang na she had to resort to wigs tapos sa poster, real hair na. Ano iyon??!

Anyways, the movie is sooo GOOD! And hilarious!!! Mapapatawa ka talaga and I admit, Sarah’s really good! Nakaya niyang i-sustain ang “American accent” niya from the beginning to the end. Unlike Gretchen B on “Princess & I” when sometimes nawawala na accent niya, minsan it’s back (this according to my SIL who used to watch “Princess & I”).

How often can local celebs/ or those in the local film industry say NO? Those who can (or who have the balls/guts, or the showbiz hatak via sanguinity or via their mega history) would they even say NO to a bad script, bad direction, bad styling? Look at the trailer of the new Marian movie. It’s a film by a more respectable director, yet the trailer is very network-approved-and-recommended as it reveals the entire plot. The word NO is perhaps unheard of among their kind.

yup, giving us a bad rep. We don’t wear bad wigs here.

I feel bad for Sarah G. per Kc’s martin late at night interview regarding their recent Brazil trip. I felt like Kc was pretty annoyed. Then I felt worse when I saw her recent guesting with John Lloyd on GGV when she was dancing for JL. Please watch it on youtube. She is humiliating herself but I can’t blame her. She’s not growing up normally bec. of her mom.

Parang tumigas lang na basahan sa bahay nila with matching fly-away style pa, tapos biglang nilagay na sa ulo! haha!
Si Sarah talaga masunurin na bata – pati basahan OK lang isuot sa ulo nya. As in walang angal. :-)

LOL the wig is a gift that keeps on giving. It won’t ever go away, laging pinaguusapan eh! But it’s hard not to notice it when it’s THE ONE constant with this director and Sarah Geronimo. Para syang mole ni Enrique Iglesias – nung nawala, nawala yung lucky charm hahaha.

Anyway, moving on from the wig (if that’s even possible!) there are other reasons to cringe at this movie! It’s quite CRINGETASTIC

    1. What a cringey title: It takes a man and a woman. it almost feels like the title was made for that one line in the end, “what does it take? …. it takes a man and a woman!”(though i know they got it yet again from a cheesy 80s love song – no surprises there)

    2. What a cringey opening dance sequence. if only to avoid that SUNDANCE and the joom-joom-jooom of JL leading to a POWER HUG! i will stay away. My eyes! My eyes! How to unsee?

    3. What a cringey “wacky-wackihan” portrayal of a fun girl. Do guys really dig it?

Oh wow, and its not just one wig!!  Can’t Sarah have a say in how she is styled in a movie?  And John Lloyd should steer away from roles like this.  He is too good an actor to waste his time on such crap.  Time to pick his roles.
