First look: Margiela x H&M

I was thinking about going to H&M Shanghai or elsewhere on November 15 to get some Martin Margiela x H&M.

H&M announces Margiela

I certainly don’t want to line up for two hours in cities where people know Margiela—like Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore or Bangkok. Further than Asia is out of the question.
I’ve experienced lining up a couple of times for H&M, both in Tokyo: once for its collab with Comme des Garçons and once for Lanvin.
Both were not such great experiences because I don’t enjoy panic buying with tons of people fighting over clothes. I need to shop relaxed without impossible queues to the fitting room and cashier.

Now I don’t know how some bloggers got their photos of Margiela x H&M because these aren’t in the H&M press room.
But if June Shannon loves extreme couponing, I love extreme Googling.
Here are some looks from Margiela x H&M I found online. Your thoughts?

If you want to try lining up, go to H&M Singapore, they queue 1-2 days before release, rain or shine! Other “smart” girls will make their maids do the queueing & shopping for them as well.  It was even featured in the local news and yahoo asia.

Ms. C, do you have a blog before ala “the sartorialist”? Taking pictures of fashionable pinoys (original fashion blog!) i loved that site! But anyway, we just moved here in Thailand and saw how ridiculous the line for H&M when it first opened last 29th of Sept. im sure you are better off somewhere rather than here. Didnt realized how asia loves H&M till we moved here.
    Love love your sassy blog!

Flew into Singapore last month and made a beeline to H&M on Orchard Road.  I still don’t understand why we don’t have H&M in Australia.  Saw a discounted rack of Marni x H&M clothes which look so sad.  Was tempted to buy them but alas, they don’t have anything on my size.

I like the 2nd one with contrast of white against animal print and beige shoes.   Of course you have to be 5’10″ to look good in those get ups.

Ms. C! I am an avid avid reader of your blog! I’m currently living in Shanghai and H&M is my favorite! I know all the H&M stores here! (there’s quite a lot!) you should come shop here since the Shoppers here are not really gaga over collaborations. nilangaw nga yung Versace x H&M ! they even went 70% off! I can take you to the less crowded h&m if you want! just let me have my pics taken with you! *fan mode!* – Mae

Was at the H&M Superbrand Mall today before 11 AM. They carried the oversized jacket and several other items. No queues though there was definite interest. They’ve sold out on the larger sizes already.  They also had stainless steel pendants, belts, and some nice shoes.

Love the Miss Minchin jacket, second photo from last. Too bad I won’t be able to fit into that this winter!

Was the experience in H&M Tokyo really so bad? I can’t imagine it being worse than anywhere else. Maybe it was the panic buying spree. I was really excited for the collection and everyone has to experience lining up for a collaboration.
I’ve only seen one image from the press release. Looks like extreme googling was better.
    Any favorites?
