Ferry

I actually like riding the ferry in Hong Kong because the boats are old and nostalgic. It reminds me of my Lola. I imagine she rode the same ferry many decades ago.

Ferry

I prefer taking the ferry between Hong Kong and Kowloon because I have a phobia of taxi drivers. I’m really scared of taking a cab alone—doesn’t matter which country.
Unfortunately I can’t swim, so every time I get on a ferry, I sit next to a lifesaver (salvavida).
I’m always aware of the possibility of an mishap, and it doesn’t hurt to say a prayer each time we ride a public vehicle or go on a trip.
So this comes as a shock to me. I knew that Hong Kong was celebrating a national holiday with lots of fireworks. Fortunately I’m already back in Manila as I find out this horrible thing happened yesterday on the ferry.
Never thought it could happen in Hong Kong. RIP.

I hardly ride the ferry in HK, only when I have guests, but this is also something that affected me yesterday. :(

You have an angel guarding you, Ms. C (also due to good karma…? if I may add) ! You were also in NYC when the shooting happened, but on the other side of town, now this disaster in HK, but you got back to Manila right before it happened. Take care, always :-)

I noticed from some earlier photos walang suot na life jackets yung mga passenger. Don’t they have them available under their seats or an overhead compartment, just in case?
